1. What is Quantum Technology?

Quantum Technology is based on the principles of quantum theory. The tech helps develop powerful computational tools.

2. How powerful are the tools?

Let’s compare the time taken to solve an advanced math calculation below

*Schrödinger-Feynman simulation

3. How are quantum computers different from normal computers?

Normal computers store data in bits. Each bit can either be 0 or 1.

Quantum computers use qubits that exist as 1, 0 or both at the same time. This superposition state opens up infinite possibilities. And helps make unbelievably fast simultaneous and parallel calculations.

4. Where does quantum technology find applications?

From breaking every known encryption to creating unhackable encryptions. From developing new drugs that could treat currently cureless diseases to managing a vast number of autonomous vehicles. From agriculture and education to the aerospace and advanced manufacturing — the applications are extensive and transformative.

5. What does NM-QTA (National Mission on Quantum Technologies & Applications) mean for India?

Quantum Technology is still in the early stages. We are yet to overcome big scientific challenges to make it commercially active. This mission can put India in the elite group of countries who pioneer in quantum technology.
